Bernie's Back

Well not in pinstripes, but in front of a crowd in New York. He showed up at the April 7th Allman Brothers Band show at the Beacon Theater and joined them on guitar for "Who's Been Talkin'." Two videos below, the second one has Bernie playing a lead/solo.

Now no matter what I've said about the Yankees needing to get rid of Bernie in the past, I still always liked the guy and appreciated him, and it's good to see him enjoying his retirement.

No matter how many outfielders go down for the Yankees though, I hope everyone remembers that Bernabe Williams is no longer capable of playing the outfield. Which is fine, since he's a badass guitarist.

i really, really wish i hadn't noticed how nicely that shirt accentuates his upper arm area. i am so ashamed.

in other news i think my aunt and uncle were at that show, i'll have to ask them for a report.

also who was it that said something like he's a musician who just happened to play baseball? i think that captures bernie perfectly. the only right we-want-bernie scenario for this year, in my mind, would be him playing the star spangled banner or god bless america or both at a postseason game.

Why am I thinking it was Gammons?

Oh Bernie is also welcome to Old Timer's Day, and to throw out a pitch in the playoffs.
