When is Willie Mays Getting Kicked Out Of the HOF?

Just saw a report on ESPN that Willie Mays and Willie Stargell are being investigated for giving out and using amphetamines during their playing days.

Amphetamines are uppers, and thus performance enhancers.

So, Willie Mays is being investigated for taking PEDs.

This shouldn't be news... Jim Bouton spoke about greenies (uppers) in "Ball Four" which came out in the mid-70's.

If they'll keep guys like McGwire and Bonds out of the Hall for suspected PED use, I would assume Mays can start packing his bags out of Cooperstown as well, right?

Doubtful. Voters have a double standard.

That's a very old story. Dale Berra said Stargell and Madlock were using greenies as far back as the mid 80s. Heck if its true, then yes, he is a cheater. But first we need proof—something more concrete than Dale Berra.

Yes, the origin of the story is old, I was just amazed at the ESPN report. Quite frankly I don't care if Mays used greenies and cheated or not - I'm just tired of all the holier-than-thou shit from players of that era wanting to keep anyone who played in the 1990s and beyond out of the Hall of Fame.

Yawn!

Who give a shit about the HOF? Phil Rizzuto and Bill Mazeroski (among other "greats") are in while Pete Rose & Joe Jackson are out. Regardless of who gets inducted, their credibility of determining the greatest players isn't that high.

Please tell me you're not really getting worked up over this Mike.
